Rony Theodore-Owner, Spread Love & Eat

Born and raised in Haiti, Rony Theodore discovered his passion for cooking at the age of five, learning by his grandmother’s side in the family kitchen. Those early experiences—rooted in tradition, flavor, and love—ignited a lifelong dedication to food and community.

Rony went on to serve over 25 years in the U.S. Army, completing multiple deployments around the world. His military career instilled in him the values of discipline, perseverance, and leadership, which now guide his work in the culinary field.

After retiring from military service, Rony pursued his culinary dream by enrolling at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), where he honed his craft and graduated with the skills and confidence to take the next bold step: opening his own restaurant.

Today, Rony is the proud owner and chef of Spread Love & Eat, a vegan-friendly restaurant located in Brooklyn, NY. Through his food, Rony honors his heritage, shares the flavors of the Caribbean, and fulfills his mission to serve healthy, nourishing meals to his community. Spread Love Eat is more than a restaurant—it’s a reflection of Rony’s journey, values, and commitment to spreading love through every dish.
